The Secretary must pay a monthly allowance to any child of a Vietnam veteran who has a disability caused by spina bifida. How much the child gets depends on how severe the disability is, using three levels the Secretary sets: $200, $700, or $1,200 per month. Those amounts can be adjusted under section 5312.
