The Department of Defense must quickly send any money it takes from a service member’s pay to the Secretary so it can be put into the fund. Each month the Secretary of Defense must give the Secretary a report showing each initial enrollee’s name and service number, the amount deducted, any contribution by the Secretary of Defense under section 3222(c), and any enrollment or contribution changes, plus any other needed information. The Secretary must keep records of each participant’s contributions, the Secretary of Defense’s contributions, and the benefit payments from the fund.
