Title 38 › Part III— READJUSTMENT AND RELATED BENEFITS › Chapter 33— POST–9/11 EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE › Subchapter II— EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE › § 3315A
People who get education benefits under this law also get help paying for national tests used to get into college, to earn college course credit, or to show prior learning for college credit. The program will pay either the full test fee or whatever education benefit money the person has left at the time of payment, whichever is smaller. The amount of benefit time taken away for a test is prorated. It is based on the test fee compared to the monthly benefit rate. That monthly rate was $1,460 for the academic year starting August 1, 2011. For later years, the monthly rate is the prior year’s rate increased by the most recent percentage increase set under section 3015(h).
