Title 38 › Part III— READJUSTMENT AND RELATED BENEFITS › Chapter 33— POST–9/11 EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE › Subchapter III— ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS › § 3323
Make certain existing education rules from other parts of the law apply to people getting education help under this chapter. Sections 3034(a)(1) and 3680(c) must apply. When those sections say “eligible veteran,” read it as an individual who is entitled to educational assistance under this chapter. When applying section 3474, treat “educational assistance allowance” as the assistance paid under section 3313. For section 3482(g), treat its first reference to “educational assistance allowance” as the assistance under section 3313, and treat the first sentence of paragraph (1) of 3482(g) as if it ended with the word “equipment.” The Secretary must give information about these education benefits to every member of the Armed Forces at times set with the Secretary of Defense. The information must cover benefits, limits, how to apply, eligibility (including time-in-service), and include application forms under section 5102. The Secretary of Veterans Affairs must send that information and other materials to schools, training centers, military education staff, and others the Secretary chooses. The Secretary must make rules to run this chapter, and any rules from the Secretary of Defense must be the same for all the military services.
