§522 Studies of Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons

Summary

The Secretary can study and investigate ways to help disabled people return to useful work. These studies can look at the skills and limits of different groups of disabled people, how to develop their abilities, and how to use their services in suitable paid jobs, including by studying rehabilitation programs in other countries. To do this work, the Secretary can team up with public or private groups and hire outside experts. Those experts may get a reasonable daily fee for each day they actually work and be paid for needed travel and other expenses, as set by the Secretary.
