§8119 Annual Report on Outpatient Clinics

Summary

The Secretary must send the committees an annual report on community-based outpatient clinics and other outpatient clinics of the Department. The report is due each year no later than the date the budget for the next fiscal year is sent to Congress under section 1105 of title 31. The report must list every clinic and, for each one, say the kind of clinic, where it is, its size, how many health professionals work there, its workload, whether it is leased or was built and run by the Secretary, and the yearly cost to operate it. It must list clinics opened in the prior fiscal year and clinics the Secretary plans to open in the current and next fiscal years, with activation costs and the same details above. It must name clinics under review by the National Review Panel and possible future locations from the Department’s plans, including rural and underserved areas. It must give a prioritized list of sites that could be set up without new construction or leases, including sites that could be expanded by hiring or moving staff and sites established or able to be established under sections 8111 and 8153.
