§3702 Definitions

Lays out meanings for important words used in the chapter. Nonpostal services — Postal Service offerings that this chapter specifically allows and that are not postal products or services. Costs attributable — has the meaning given in section 3631. Year — means a fiscal year. Local government — counties, municipalities (cities, towns, townships), local public authorities, school and special districts, intrastate districts, councils of governments, or regional or interstate entities. State government — includes the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands, and other U.S. territories or possessions. Tribal government — the government of an Indian tribe as defined in section 4 of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (25 U.S.C. 5304). United States (geographical) — the States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands, and other U.S. territories or possessions.
