§17504 Agency Statements with Respect to Motor Vehicle Use

Summary

Include with the agency's budget request under section 1108 of title 31 a statement that shows the agency's motor vehicle costs and explains why cheaper options won't work. The statement must list total vehicle costs the agency had in the most recently completed fiscal year (including obligations and outlays), give estimates for the fiscal year of the request and the next fiscal year, and justify why current and any new vehicle needs cannot be met by the GSA Interagency Fleet Management System, a qualified private fleet manager, or any other less costly method. The agency head must follow the preparation rules in section 17503(b) when making this statement.
