§17505 Presidential Report

Summary

The President must send Congress, with the annual budget or in a separate written report for that year, a short summary and analysis of the latest reports sent by executive agency heads under section 17504(a). The summary must look at three years—the fiscal year before the budget year, the current fiscal year, and the fiscal year the budget covers—and report cost savings that have been achieved, are expected, and could be achieved in buying, maintaining, leasing, operating, and disposing of agency motor vehicles. It must cover savings from three approaches: using qualified private fleet managers or other contractors; using the General Services Administration’s Interagency Fleet Management System; and other existing vehicle-management systems.
