Protects the L’Enfant and McMillan plans and guides how Washington, D.C.’s open spaces and memorials are used. It has four goals: preserve those city plans; keep and protect public open space and encourage memorials in the city; and require future memorials on National Park Service or General Services land to be well designed, well placed, and widely agreed to be of lasting national importance.
