Title 42 › Chapter 127— COORDINATED SERVICES FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND FAMILIES › Subchapter II— WHITE HOUSE CONFERENCE ON CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND FAMILIES › § 12372
The President must call a White House Conference on Children, Youth, and Families in 1993 to make recommendations that support the existing federal policy on children, youth, and families. The Secretary will run the planning and the meeting, with help from the Commissioner and other federal agencies, who may provide staff. The Conference’s goals are to raise public awareness, look at youth well‑being and problems, find where services are missing and why, and make specific recommendations for executive and legislative action. It must include federal, state, and local officials (including the Government Accountability Office), professionals who work with youth and families, and members of the public, especially young people. Delegates must be chosen without regard to political party and should represent a range of views.
