Title 42 › Chapter 129— NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE › Subchapter I— NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE STATE GRANT PROGRAM › Part II— Application and Approval Process › § 12581a
The Corporation may use yearly appropriated funds to give fixed-amount grants that help run programs which have approved national service positions but do not get other program funding. These grants provide operational support for those programs. Support cannot be more than $800 for each person in an approved position, or $1,000 per person if at least 50 percent of the participants are disadvantaged youth. Three rules do not apply to programs getting this support: limits on administrative costs, matching-fund requirements, and member living allowances and other benefits (except individualized support services for participants with disabilities still apply).
