People who finish a full-time approved national service term must get an educational award equal to the maximum Federal Pell Grant for that award year. People who finish a part-time term must get half of that amount. If someone is released early under section 12593(c)(1)(A), the program may give a partial award that matches how much service they actually completed. A completed summer service term pays $500 each, for up to two terms; the program’s chief executive may raise a summer award to $750 for economically disadvantaged participants. Completing a silver scholar term pays $1,000.
