To get a grant here, a program must do work on public lands or Indian lands or give a clear public benefit. If an application proposes work on public or Indian lands, the Corporation must talk with the Secretary of the Interior. Any grant-funded work to conserve, fix, or improve those lands must follow the laws, policies, and management plans that apply. State land or water conservation programs run under federal authority are encouraged to use the services available under this part to carry out their work.
