Title 42 › Chapter 134— ENERGY POLICY › Subchapter I— ALTERNATIVE FUELS—GENERAL › § 13219
Postmaster General must, as much as possible, coordinate the Postal Service’s programs to buy, place, fuel, and maintain vehicles that use fuels other than regular gasoline with similar Federal, State, and local programs. The Postmaster General must also regularly share information about these programs with the Secretary, the Administrator of General Services, and other federal agency heads. When buying or placing these vehicles, the Postmaster General must consider six things, including local buying plans; availability of refueling and repair; how much the fleet’s emissions would drop; whether the vehicle will be used in a Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 nonattainment area; postal operational needs; and how much oil use in transportation would be reduced.
