Owners of certain federally assisted housing built for older families may keep limiting who lives there to older families, as long as they follow the rules and agreements that were in place when the housing was developed. Any tenant lawfully living in a unit cannot be evicted or forced to leave because of those admission preferences or because the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development or the owner acts under this law.
