§1592h Conditions and Requirements as to Contracts; Utilization of Existing Facilities; Disposition of Facilities Constructed by United States

Summary

Contracts under this law must follow section 6101 of title 41, unless there is an emergency. They cannot use a pay system that gives a contractor a percentage of costs. They can pay a fixed fee, but that fee cannot be more than 6 percent of the estimated cost. Where possible, existing public or private community facilities should be used or improved instead of building new ones. If the United States builds community facilities under this law, ownership must be transferred to the proper state or local agency willing to run them for their intended purpose no later than one year after June 30, 1953, and under conditions Congress later sets.
