NASA must make the finished International Space Station as useful as possible for research, technology development, space exploration, and working with other countries. To do that, NASA must run the U.S. part as a National Laboratory under section 18354 so it is used well; keep using the ISS to support international missions and expand human presence beyond near‑Earth space and U.S. security and economic goals; and manage the station to allow cooperation with other U.S. research programs and commercial partners.
