§18771 Definitions

Summary

Defines key words used in this part of the law. Administrator means the head of the Energy Information Administration. Annual Critical Minerals Outlook means the report required under section 1606(j)(1)(B) of title 30. Critical mineral means what section 1606(a) of title 30 defines. Household energy burden means a household’s residential energy spending (as defined in 10 C.F.R. 440.3 as of November 15, 2021) divided by its annual income. Household with a high energy burden means the term as defined in 10 C.F.R. 440.3 as of November 15, 2021. Large manufacturing facility means a plant that uses more than 35,000 megawatt-hours of electricity a year or has peak demand over 10 megawatts. Load-serving entity means the term in section 824q(a) of title 16. Miscellaneous electric load means electricity used by a device in or serving a building that is not for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, water heating, or refrigeration. Regional Transmission Organization means the term in section 796 of title 16. Rural area means the term in section 918c(a) of title 7.
