Not later than one year after August 9, 2022, and every year after, the Director must give Congress a report on what the Office of Research Security did. The report must describe the Office’s actions, offer any recommended law or policy changes to improve research security, point out gaps in legal authority for protecting Foundation-funded research at colleges and universities, and include information from the Foundation’s Inspector General about cases of improper influence or threats to research, including theft of property or intellectual property.
