The Secretary must, 1 year after December 29, 2022 and annually after, send a report to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions and the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, without harming national security. The report must describe actions on foreign influence in research and include numbers of NIH investigations or reports (undisclosed support, conflicts, peer‑review violations); numbers of referrals to HHS OIG, the HHS national security office, the FBI or other law enforcement; summaries of enforcement actions; and steps taken to prevent and reduce such problems.
