Title 42 › Chapter 6A— PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE › Subchapter II— GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES › Part D— Primary Health Care › Subpart viii— bulk purchases of vaccines for certain programs › § 256d
Organizations that get certain federal health grants, contracts, or cooperative agreements must give out information about breast and cervical cancer when the Secretary of Health decides it is appropriate. They can choose who should get the information. They may teach how to do breast self-exams. They must give the information in the language and cultural style that fits the people they serve. They must also refer people, when needed, for screening, treatment, or other services. The rule applies to ten kinds of federally supported programs, for example tuberculosis and STD programs, migrant and community health centers, homeless and public housing health services, family planning and AIDS services, certain other federally supported health programs, and some Indian Self-Determination entities.
