Title 42 › CHAPTER 6A — PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE › SUBCHAPTER X — TRAUMA CARE › Part B — Formula Grants With Respect to Modifications of State Plans › § 300d–21
The Secretary must give free technical help to any State that gets payments under section 300d–11(a). This help is for planning, developing, and running programs under section 300d–11(b). The Secretary can give help directly, hire others to help, or give grants. If a State asks, the Secretary can also provide supplies, equipment, services, and assign Department of Health and Human Services staff to help with those programs. The Secretary will reduce the State’s payments under section 300d–11(a) by the cost of those staff and by the fair market value of any supplies, equipment, or services, and will use the withheld money to pay those expenses.
