Title 42 › CHAPTER 6A — PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE › SUBCHAPTER XXV — REQUIREMENTS RELATING TO HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE › Part A — Individual and Group Market Reforms › Subpart I — General Reform › § 300gg–6
Health insurers that sell individual or small-group plans must include the required essential health benefits package in those plans (see section 18022(a)). Group health plans must keep any yearly cost-sharing, like deductibles and copays, at or below the limits set in section 18022(c)(1). If an insurer offers any coverage level listed in section 18022(d), it must also offer that same level as a child-only plan for people who are under 21 at the start of the plan year. This does not apply to a specific dental-only plan described in section 18031(d)(2)(B)(ii).
