Title 42 › CHAPTER 82 — SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL › SUBCHAPTER X — DEMONSTRATION MEDICAL WASTE TRACKING PROGRAM › § 6992c
The EPA can require anyone who makes, stores, treats, transports, or disposes of medical waste to give information and records (including tracking forms required under section 6992b), let EPA staff do monitoring or testing, and allow EPA employees or representatives to inspect sites and copy records. Those EPA people may enter facilities at reasonable times, test or monitor, and take samples of wastes, containers, or labels. Inspections must start and finish without delay. If samples are taken, the owner must get a receipt and, if asked and possible, an equal share of the sample before the inspector leaves. If the samples are analyzed, the owner must get the results quickly. Records and reports the EPA gets are handled the same way as under section 6927(b).
