Title 42 › CHAPTER 96 — BIOMASS ENERGY AND ALCOHOL FUELS › SUBCHAPTER I — GENERAL BIOMASS ENERGY DEVELOPMENT › § 8818
Within 120 days after June 30, 1980, the Secretary of Energy and the Secretary of Agriculture must send Congress a complete list of every loan, grant, incentive, rebate, or other financial help—private, State, or Federal—that is in effect or proposed and that can be or has been used to make alcohol for motor fuel or to replace petroleum. The Office of Alcohol Fuels must send yearly reports to Congress and the President. Each report must describe the Office’s work that year, evaluate each biomass energy project receiving financial help, show progress toward the program’s goals, offer specific recommendations Congress could take to help, and include the Office’s financial statements. By September 30, 1990, the Office must send a report that reviews its overall impact, lists the status of each assisted project, and gives a plan to end the Office’s work.
