Title 43 › Chapter 38— CRUDE OIL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS › § 2003
Defines names used in this chapter for certain groups of States, certain oil delivery systems, and what a Federal agency is. Northern tier States are Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. Inland States are all other U.S. States except the northern tier, California, Alaska, and Hawaii. Crude oil transportation system means a delivery system that moves Alaskan and other crude oil to those northern tier and inland States, but it does not include the Long Beach‑Midland project, which is the delivery system described in the Final Environmental Impact Statement announced in the Federal Register on June 1, 1977 (42 Fed. Reg. 28008). Federal agency means an Executive agency as defined in section 105 of title 5.
