Title 43 › Chapter 8A— GRAZING LANDS › Subchapter II— ALASKA › § 316m
Anyone who holds or asks for grazing rights can ask for a review of any Interior Department decision about those rights. To do this, you file a written request for a hearing with the local land office officer the Secretary of the Interior names. The request must say what decision you object to and why. That officer must review the matter using the same practice rules used for public land contests, and any interested person may appeal the officer’s decision to the Secretary. The Secretary may not take any action that would hurt a leaseholder’s rights under this law until the Secretary tells the leaseholder about the proposed action and gives them a chance for a hearing.
