Costs for surveying, selecting, and conveying lands granted to the Union Pacific Railroad Company must be paid when the Secretary of the Interior demands them under section 883. Sections 882–885 do not limit Congress’s power to change or repeal the Act of July 2, 1864 (chapter 216), do not give up any rights the United States had on July 10, 1886, and may themselves be changed or repealed.
