§1903 Distribution of Publications to Depositories; Notice to Government Components; Cost of Printing and Binding

Summary

Government agencies that order printed materials must change how many copies they send so the Superintendent of Documents gets as many copies as there are depository and State libraries on the official list. That count cannot be limited by any law in force on August 9, 1962. Copies to be sent include the Senate and House journals, non‑confidential committee publications, public bills and resolutions, and reports on private bills and resolutions, but not cooperative publications that must be sold. The Superintendent of Documents will tell agencies how many copies are needed. If agencies get the copies from anyone other than the Government Publishing Office, the agency that issued the item pays the printing and binding costs. Copies ordered from the Government Publishing Office are paid from the appropriations provided to the Superintendent for that purpose.
