Title 44 › Chapter 19— DEPOSITORY LIBRARY PROGRAM › § 1903
Agencies that order printing must, when the Superintendent of Documents asks, provide copies equal to the number of libraries on the list of depository and State libraries. That number cannot be limited by any law effective August 9, 1962. Required items include congressional journals, nonconfidential committee publications, public bills and resolutions, and certain reports; cooperative publications sold to cover costs are excluded. Superintendent will say how many to send. If printed outside the GPO, the agency pays; if ordered from the GPO, the cost is charged to appropriations for the Superintendent.
