Title 45 › Chapter 18— MILWAUKEE RAILROAD RESTRUCTURING › § 907
If you worked for the Milwaukee Railroad on September 30, 1979 and were laid off (not for cause) or furloughed before April 1, 1984 because the railroad reduced service, you get first hiring priority with any regulated railroad, unless you are less qualified or the job is covered by a required or allowed affirmative‑action plan. A carrier recalling its furloughed workers is not counted as hiring new employees.
