If no one proves a deceased seaman’s claim to money, property, or wages held by a U.S. district court within 6 years, the court may accept or deny any later claim. If it appears no claim will be paid after 6 years, the court must sell the property and deposit the money into a Treasury trust for unclaimed moneys.
