Summary

The agency that gives out vessel numbers can make rules and charge fees to carry out the law. The fees must be the same for people who live in the State and people who do not. A State agency can only add rules about vessel numbering in two cases: when the rules are required by this law or by the Secretary’s rules about the standard numbering system, or when the rules are about showing payment of State or local taxes.
