Do not make, sell, offer for sale, bring into interstate commerce, or import recreational boats, their equipment, or parts unless they follow the rules under this law and do not have a defect that the Secretary or the manufacturer told you could cause serious injury. Items made only for export are allowed if they are clearly labeled for export. Do not put false or misleading U.S. government seals, labels, or claims on boats or equipment. Send any safety notices and reports the rules require, and use reasonable care when doing so. You must not operate a boat in a way that breaks these rules or their regulations.
