§70119 Civil Penalty

Summary

Anyone who breaks the rules in this chapter or its regulations must pay the United States up to $25,000 for each day the violation keeps happening. The total penalty for one violation cannot be more than $50,000.

(a)Any person that violates this chapter or any regulation under this chapter shall be liable to the United States for a civil penalty of not more than $25,000 for each day during which the violation continues.
(b)The maximum amount of a civil penalty for a violation under this section shall not exceed $50,000.
