Title 47 › Chapter 11— COMMERCIAL MOBILE SERVICE ALERTS › § 1205
Fund this chapter from the Digital Transition and Public Safety Fund under section 3010 of the Digital Television Transition and Public Safety Act of 2005 and from appropriations. The Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information must pay back broadcast stations for reasonable costs under section 1201(c) and pay for alerts that target specific areas. Starting October 1, 2006, the Assistant Secretary may borrow up to $106,000,000 from the Treasury. The Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Science and Technology and the Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere must get funds for sections 1203 and 1204. The Treasury will be repaid without interest from Fund deposits.
