§1604 Reports on Covered Communications Equipment or Services

Summary

Providers of advanced communications service must send the Commission an annual report, in a form the Commission decides, saying whether they bought, rented, leased, or otherwise got any covered communications equipment or service on or after August 14, 2018 for items on the initial list, or on or after 60 days after the Commission adds an item to the list. If a provider tells the Commission it has no covered equipment or services in its network, it does not need to keep filing reports unless it later gets such equipment or services. If a provider reports that it did get covered equipment or services, the report must say why it did so in detail, whether the equipment has been removed and replaced under section 1603, and whether the provider plans to keep buying or using it and why. The Commission must include these rules in the rulemaking under section 1603(g).
