Title 48 › Chapter 11— ALIEN OWNERS OF LAND › § 1503
Lets non-U.S. citizens (aliens) inherit land, get or hold liens or mortgages on real estate, lend money secured by property, and enforce or keep title tied to those loans. Any land they acquire this way must be sold within ten years after their ownership is perfected; if not, it goes back to the United States and is forfeited under sections 1504 to 1507.
