An agreement between the United States and the Republic of Palau that matches the agreements approved by Public Law 101–62 will start without more approval 30 days after it is sent to Congress. The parts called article IX, paragraph 5(a) of the agreements referred to in section 462(e) and section 462(f) are extended until October 1, 1998, unless U.S. law ends or extends them sooner. Money to carry out this part, to help Palau’s central health care facility and prison, and to fund the offices of Public Auditor and Special Prosecutor under the agreement signed May 26, 1989, will come from the authorization in section 105(c) of Public Law 99–239 as referenced by section 102(b) of Public Law 99–658, or from funds for technical assistance to the Secretary of the Interior.
