§32504 Certificates of Compliance

Summary
Under rules set by the Secretary of Transportation, if a passenger vehicle or its equipment must meet a standard in section 32502, the vehicle maker or parts distributor must give the dealer or distributor who gets it a certificate when it is delivered. The certificate must state that the vehicle or equipment meets that standard.

Title 49, §32504

Under regulations prescribed by the Secretary of Transportation, a manufacturer or distributor of a passenger motor vehicle or passenger motor vehicle equipment subject to a standard prescribed under section 32502 of this title shall give the distributor or dealer at the time of delivery a certificate that the vehicle or equipment complies with the standard.
