Summary

Protects airlines, foreign airlines, and their employees from being sued under federal or state law when they voluntarily report suspicious activity that could be linked to crimes or rule breaks—like hijacking, threats to a plane or passengers, or terrorism (as defined under federal law)—to officials at the Department of Transportation, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, any law enforcement officer, or airport/airline security staff. This protection does not apply if the person knew the report was false or made it without caring whether it was true.
