§5504 Model Intermodal Transportation Plans

Summary

The Secretary of Transportation must give grants to States so they can create model State intermodal transportation plans that follow the policy in section 302(e). The plans must include ways to collect data about intermodal transportation. Grants should be given to States from different regions with different transportation needs, patterns, and modes. To get a grant, a State must agree to send its plan to the Secretary within 18 months of receiving the money. The Secretary must set aside $3,000,000 from amounts deducted under section 104(a) of title 23 for these grants, and no State may receive more than $500,000 in total.
