§1001 Definitions

Summary

Defines who and what the chapter talks about: the Administrator, advisory committees, agencies, and Presidential advisory committees. Administrator means the head of the General Services Administration. Advisory committee means any group (for example, a board, council, panel, task force, or a subgroup) used to give advice or recommendations to the President or to one or more federal agencies or officers, when it is created by law, by the President, or by one or more agencies. It does not include groups made entirely of full‑time or permanent part‑time federal employees, or groups created by the National Academy of Sciences or the National Academy of Public Administration. Agency means the same as in section 551 of this title. Presidential advisory committee means an advisory committee that advises the President.
