Title 5 › Part III— EMPLOYEES › Subpart I— Miscellaneous › Chapter 102— UNITED STATES SECRET SERVICE UNIFORMED DIVISION PERSONNEL › § 10203
Sets the yearly base pay for members of the Secret Service Uniformed Division by rank and step. The table gives amounts for each step within a rank: Officer $44,000 to $75,680; Sergeant $59,708 to $87,032; Lieutenant $69,018 to $95,738; Captain $79,594 to $101,638; Inspector $91,533 to $121,108. Deputy Chief and Assistant Chief pay equals 95 percent of the pay for Executive Schedule level V. The Chief’s pay equals the rate for Executive Schedule level V. When pay under the General Schedule is changed, these rates must be adjusted by the same percentage. The adjustment takes effect at the start of the first pay period that begins on or after the first day of the month the General Schedule change goes into effect. The Secretary may use a method that creates equal dollar steps within a rank and keeps the percent gaps between ranks. After any adjustment, Lieutenant, Captain, and Inspector pay cannot exceed 95 percent of Executive Schedule level V. Locality pay can be added for all ranks, but it cannot raise total pay above the basic rate for Executive Schedule level IV.
