Summary

Put the rules in this subchapter under different ethics authorities for each branch of government. The House Committee on Ethics handles Members, officers, and employees of the House. For Senators and other legislative branch officers and employees not in the House group, the committee that receives their reports under subchapter I handles them and may delegate that authority. The Office of Government Ethics sets rules for the executive branch, with designated agency ethics officials running them. The Judicial Conference of the United States, or an agency it picks, handles the judicial branch.

This subchapter shall be subject to the rules and regulations of— (1)

(2)the Office of Government Ethics and administered by designated agency ethics officials with respect to officers and employees of the executive branch; and

(3)and administered by the Judicial Conference of the United States (or such other agency as it may designate) with respect to officers and employees of the judicial branch.
