When a person takes the oath required by section 3331, they must give the signed oath to the House of Congress, the agency, or the court that the job belongs to, and that body must keep it in its records.

The oath of office taken by an individual under section 3331 of this title shall be delivered by him to, and preserved by, the House of Congress, agency, or court to which the office pertains.
