§3111a Federal Internship Programs

Summary

Each agency that runs internship programs must pick one person to be the internship coordinator. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must put on the internet each coordinator’s name and contact information and must show how and when to apply for each internship. OPM must also post links to the agency web pages where that information appears. An "internship program" means one of four things: a volunteer service program under section 3111(b); an internship set up under Executive Order 13562 dated December 27, 2010 (75 Federal Register 82585); a program run by a nongovernment organization that provides paid internships to agencies under a written agreement similar to that Executive Order; or a similar program allowed by another law. "Intern" means a person taking part. "Agency" means an Executive agency.
