§410 Special Provisions Concerning the Nuclear Regulatory Commission

Summary

The Chairman of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission may give the power described in the second sentence of section 403(a) to another NRC commissioner, but may not give that power to any other officer or employee of the Commission. Despite paragraphs (7) and (8) of section 406(a), the NRC Inspector General may hire the officers and employees needed for the Office of Inspector General. The Inspector General may also obtain temporary or part‑time experts or consultant groups, following the laws and rules that apply to such hiring and services within the NRC.
