Each federal agency and each designated federal entity must put a clear, easy-to-find link on its website homepage to its Office of the Inspector General (OIG) website. The OIG must post any final audit, inspection, or evaluation report within 3 days after that report is given in final form to the agency head. Posted reports must be easy to find from the OIG homepage, include a short summary of the findings, and be in a format people can search, download, and print. The OIG homepage must also have a clear link for people to report fraud, waste, or abuse. People using that link do not have to give personal identifying information. The OIG must not reveal a reporter’s identity without their consent unless it is unavoidable during an investigation. The OIG cannot publicly post information the law forbids. “Designated Federal entity” and “head of the designated Federal entity” are specific terms defined in section 415(a).
