§567 Termination of Committee

Summary

A negotiated rulemaking committee ends when the agency publishes the final rule it was working on. It can end earlier if the committee’s charter gives an earlier date, or if the agency (after talking with the committee) or the committee itself chooses an earlier end date.

A negotiated rulemaking committee shall terminate upon promulgation of the final rule under consideration, unless the committee’s charter contains an earlier termination date or the agency, after consulting the committee, or the committee itself specifies an earlier termination date.
